Hostinger is one of the most-recommended web hosts on the internet — and one of the cheapest. Its entry plan is advertised at $2.99/month, its control panel is genuinely beginner-friendly, and independent speed tests consistently put it near the top of the budget hosting market.
But the headline price only tells part of the story. That $2.99 requires paying for four years upfront, and when the term ends, the same plan renews at $10.99/month. Support quality has also drawn mixed reports in 2026 as Hostinger leans more heavily on its AI assistant.
We run a live WordPress site on Hostinger's Premium plan, so this review is based on our own experience as paying customers — including our own speed tests and support conversations — alongside verified pricing and independent long-term uptime data. It covers what Hostinger actually costs over time, how it performs, where it falls short, and who it is — and is not — the right host for.
TL;DR: Is Hostinger Good in 2026?
Yes — for beginners, personal sites and small businesses that want fast, easy hosting on a budget. Our WordPress site on the Premium plan scores 92 on Google PageSpeed (desktop) with a 1.7s LCP, independent tests show 99.9%+ uptime, and hPanel is one of the easiest control panels available. The catches: renewal prices are 3–4x the intro rate, there is no phone support, and live chat increasingly routes you through an AI assistant first. Lock in the longest term you're comfortable with, and budget for the renewal price — not the promo price.

How We Evaluated Hostinger
We run a live WordPress site on Hostinger's Premium plan, so we evaluated it as paying customers. We ran speed tests on that site with GTmetrix and Google PageSpeed Insights on 27 September 2026, and we describe our own experience with Hostinger's support. Pricing was verified against Hostinger's website in September 2026. We have not yet run our own long-term uptime monitoring, so for uptime we cite independent tests and link to each one.
- Pricing & value: Intro price, renewal price, term length and what each plan actually includes.
- Performance: Our own GTmetrix and PageSpeed results, plus independent uptime data.
- Features: Backups, security, email, migration, AI tools and data-center choice.
- Ease of use: Onboarding, control panel and day-to-day site management.
- Support: Our own live chat experience, plus available channels and independent reports.
Hostinger Pricing: What You'll Actually Pay
Hostinger's pricing is where most reviews stop at the headline number. Here is the full picture for its web hosting plans, as listed on Hostinger's website in September 2026:
| Plan | Intro Price | Upfront (48 months) | Renews At | Websites | Storage | Backups |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $2.99/mo | $143.52 | $10.99/mo | 3 | 20 GB SSD | Weekly |
| Unlimited | $3.99/mo | $191.52 | $16.99/mo | Unlimited | 50 GB NVMe | Daily |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/mo | $383.52 | $25.99/mo | Unlimited | 100 GB NVMe | Daily + on-demand |
Prices vary by region, promotion and term length. Shorter terms carry a higher monthly rate. Always check the renewal price at checkout.
The renewal jump is the most important number on this page. Premium goes from $2.99 to $10.99/month — roughly 3.7x. Unlimited goes from $3.99 to $16.99/month — over 4x. This is standard practice in budget hosting, but Hostinger's intro-to-renewal gap is among the widest in the market.
The practical advice: if you're confident about your project, the 48-month term is where Hostinger's value is strongest, because you lock in the low rate for four years. If you're testing an idea, the 30-day money-back guarantee gives you a safe window, but be aware that monthly and short-term pricing is significantly higher.
Which plan should you choose?
- Premium suits a personal site, blog or content site — it's the plan our own site runs on, and it handles a content-heavy WordPress site comfortably. The 3-website limit and weekly-only backups are the main reasons to upgrade if your site is business-critical.
- Unlimited is the plan most small businesses should pick. Daily backups and NVMe storage alone justify the extra $1/month at intro pricing.
- Cloud Startup makes sense for busier stores or agencies managing several client sites that need more resources and on-demand backups.
Hostinger also sells VPS hosting from $6.49/month (KVM 1, renewing at $11.99/month) for users who need root access. We cover it in more detail in our comparison of the best VPS hosting providers.
Performance: Our Speed Test Results
We tested a live WordPress site we run on Hostinger's Premium plan. This is a real production site with a custom theme, images and embedded HTML blocks — not a stripped-down test install — so the results reflect what a typical content site can expect.
Google PageSpeed Insights (desktop)
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Performance score | 92/100 |
| First Contentful Paint | 0.8 s |
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | 1.7 s |
| Total Blocking Time | 90 ms |
| Cumulative Layout Shift | 0.001 |
| Speed Index | 1.0 s |
| Accessibility / Best Practices / SEO | 96 / 96 / 92 |
GTmetrix (test server: Seattle, USA)
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| GTmetrix grade | B |
| Performance | 80% |
| Structure | 89% |
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | 1.9 s |
| Total Blocking Time | 48 ms |
| Cumulative Layout Shift | 0 |
Tests run on 27 September 2026 on the site's homepage.
What the numbers mean: a 92 PageSpeed score and an LCP under Google's 2.5-second "good" threshold on both tools is a strong result for a $2.99/month plan. Layout shift is effectively zero, and blocking time is low. GTmetrix also returned a sub-2-second LCP from its Seattle test server.
What's holding the score back isn't Hostinger. PageSpeed flagged that our images could be roughly 4.3 MB smaller and that render-blocking resources add around 420 ms. Those are site-level optimizations — image compression and caching configuration — not hosting limitations. In other words, Hostinger's Premium plan has headroom we haven't used yet, and enabling LiteSpeed Cache and image compression is the first thing we'd recommend to any new Hostinger user.
Uptime
We have not yet run long-term uptime monitoring on our site, so we rely on independent data here. TechRadar recorded 99.96% uptime over 10 weeks in 2026, and Cybernews recorded 100% during its June 2026 monitoring period — both above Hostinger's 99.9% guarantee. We'll add our own uptime data to this review once we have several months of monitoring.
Two caveats worth knowing:
- Shared plans have limits. TechRadar noted throttled write speeds on shared plans, which can affect image processing and database-heavy sites. Stores with heavy traffic or large catalogs should look at Cloud Startup or a VPS instead.
- The uptime guarantee is modest. Compensation is capped at 5% credit, whereas some competitors offer a full month free.
Features
hPanel control panel
Hostinger uses its own control panel, hPanel, instead of cPanel. It is clean, fast and far less cluttered than traditional hosting dashboards. Installing WordPress, adding a domain, setting up email or restoring a backup takes a few clicks, and most beginners can find what they need without reading documentation.
AI tools
Hostinger has invested heavily in AI. Plans include an AI website builder, AI credits for content and images, and Kodee, an AI assistant built into hPanel that can troubleshoot common issues and walk you through tasks. Higher plans also include free AI email marketing for the first year. If you're comparing AI features across hosts, our guide to the best AI web hosting tools covers how Hostinger stacks up.
Security
All plans include free unlimited SSL certificates, a malware scanner and Cloudflare-powered DDoS protection. That covers the basics well, but it is not a complete security setup — for firewalls, monitoring and malware removal, see our guide to the best website security tools.
Backups
This is where plan choice matters most. Premium includes weekly backups only, which means you could lose up to six days of changes. Unlimited and Cloud Startup include daily backups, and Cloud Startup adds on-demand backups. For any business site, daily backups should be the minimum.
Every plan includes email mailboxes free for the first year (2 per site on Premium, unlimited on higher plans). After year one, email becomes a paid add-on — another cost to factor into renewal budgeting.
Free migration and domain
Hostinger migrates existing websites for free and includes a free domain for the first year. Domain renewals are charged at the standard rate after that.
Data centers
Hostinger operates data centers across four continents, including the US, UK, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Singapore. Choosing a location close to your audience is one of the simplest ways to improve load times.
Ease of Use
Ease of use is Hostinger's clearest win. Sign-up is quick, the onboarding flow asks what you want to build and sets up WordPress or the website builder for you, and hPanel keeps everyday tasks — SSL, email, backups, caching — in obvious places.
For beginners moving from a website builder or setting up their first site, Hostinger has one of the gentlest learning curves of any host we cover. Technical users may miss cPanel's familiarity, but hPanel covers everything most sites need.
Customer Support
Hostinger offers 24/7 support via live chat and email. There is no phone support.
Our experience
We contacted Hostinger's live chat when setting up our site for help getting to grips with hPanel and getting started with building the site. It took around 12 minutes to reach an agent, and once connected, they walked us through the dashboard and the setup steps clearly. For onboarding questions, the help was genuinely useful.
Twelve minutes is not instant, though — and without a phone line, there is no faster route if something urgent breaks.
What others report
Other reviewers' experiences vary: TechRadar measured an average chat wait of around 2 minutes, while Cybernews found agents sometimes redirected users to tutorials rather than solving problems directly, with the Kodee AI assistant increasingly sitting in front of human agents.
The honest summary: support is available 24/7 and was helpful for our setup questions, but response times vary and depth of help on complex issues is less consistent. If you need hands-on technical support for complex issues, a host with phone support and a stronger support reputation — such as SiteGround — may be a better fit.

Final Verdict
Hostinger earns an 8.6/10 from SoftwareSynced. It remains one of the best-value hosts available for beginners and small businesses, and our WordPress site on the entry-level Premium plan scores 92 on PageSpeed with a 1.7-second LCP — results that match hosts costing considerably more. hPanel is excellent, the free extras are genuinely useful, and the Unlimited plan hits a sweet spot for most small business sites.
What keeps it from a higher score is pricing transparency and support depth. The intro price is real, but it is a four-year commitment, and the renewal price is what you'll pay long-term. Support was helpful when we needed it, but our 12-minute wait shows it isn't instant, and there is no phone line to fall back on.
Our recommendation: choose the Unlimited plan on the longest term you're comfortable with, enable LiteSpeed caching from day one, and put a reminder in your calendar a month before renewal so you can decide whether to stay or switch on your own terms.
